April 1971 Hiroshi Teramachi established Toho Seiko Co., Ltd in Meguro-ku, Tokyo. The company started selling parts for machine tools, link balls, LM rollers, and LM balls.
April 1972 Toho Seiko started selling its main products, LM Guides and ball splines.
December 1972 Toho Seiko took over Nisshin Seisakusho Co., Ltd (captial: 5,000,000 yen). Toho Seikos capital was increased to 45,000,000 yen.
March 1973 THK Co., Ltd. was founded by a joint investment between Toho Seiko and Miyairi Valve Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
April 1977 Toho Seiko acquired the manufacturing department of THK Co., Ltd. and began operating it as its Kofu Plant.
September 1979 Toho Seiko started manufacturing and selling ballscrews.
March 1981 THK America, Inc. (currently a affiliated company) was founded in Chicago, USA.
July 1982 Toho Seiko started manufacturing and selling X-Y stages.
October 1982 With a change in the face value of its shares (from 500 yen to 50 yen per share), THK Co., Ltd (a pro forma merging corporation) was merged with Toho Seiko. The plants of Toho Seiko continued operation as THKs Nagoya and Osaka Plant.
October 1982 THK Europe GmbH (currently THK GmbH an affiliated company) was founded in Dusseldorf, Germany.
January 1984 The companys trading name was re-established as THK Co., Ltd.
February 1984 THK acquired Daiko Seisakusho Co., Ltd and began operating the new acquisitions as its Gifu Plant.
April 1985 Toyo Seiko Co., Ltd was merged with THK and inaugurated as the companys Mie Plant. Yamaguchi Plant (for manufacturing LM Guides) was established.
December 1985 THK participated in capital investment in Daito Seiki Co., Ltd (currently an equity method applied company) and entered into a technical tie-up.
June 1987 THK started manufacturing and selling intelligent actuators.
July 1987 Techno Plaza was founded in Yamaguchi Plant.
January 1988 THK Yasuda Co., Ltd was established in Yasuda-cho, Kita Kanbara-gun, Niigata Prefecture, by joint investment between THK and Samon Kogyosho Co., Ltd (currently an affiliated company).
April 1988 THK Distribution Co., Ltd was merged with THK.
July 1988 The third facility at the Yamaguchi Plant was completed.
January 1989 THK Taiwan Co., Ltd (currently an affiliated company) was founded in Taipei, Taiwan,as a joint venture between THK and Fishion Trading Co., Ltd (Taiwan).
May 1989 THK founded the CNTIC-THK Service Center in Beijing, China, with National Technical Import & Export Corportion (China) and Beijing Numerical Control Technical Development Center (China).
November 1989 THK was listed on the over-the-counter market.
April 1991 THK participated in capital investment in Beldex Co., Ltd (currently an affiliated company).
June 1991 Yamagata Plant (for manufacturing LM guuides and special bearings) was established.
October 1991 THK participated in capital investment in Samick Industrial Co., Ltd. (currently Samick LMS Co., Ltd.) South Korea, and entered into a technical tie-up.
August 1992 THK acquired PGM Ballscrews Ltd. (currently an affiliated company, the head office located in Coventry) in the UK.
October 1992 THK started manufacturing and selling R Guides.
May 1993 The head office was moved to the current location (3-11-6, Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo).
May 1993 THK Europe B.V. (currently an affiliated company) was founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
May 1994 THK participated in capital investment in Talk System Co., Ltd (currently an affiliated company, renamed from Toden System Co., Ltd. in October 1994).
October 1994 THK started manufacturing and selling cross LM Guides.
March 1996 Dalian THK Co., Ltd was founded in Dalian, China, as a joint venutre between THK and Wafangdian Bearing Group Corporation.

August 1997 THK Manufactuing of America (currently an affiliated company) was founded in Heblon, Ohio, USA.
August 1997 The second facility at the Yamagata Plant was completed.
August 1998 THK started manufacturing and selling linear motor actuators.
February 2000 THK Manufacturing of Europe S.A.S (currently an affiliated company) was founded in Ensisheim, Alsace, France.
May 2000 MRC center was established.
January 2001 THK started manufacturing and selling Caged Ball Roller Guides.

July 2001 The second facility at the THK Manufacturing of America, Inc was completed.

November 2004 Daito Seiki Co., Ltd. became a full subsidiary of THK through share exchange.
March 2005 THK Manufacturing of China (Liaoning) Co., Ltd. was established in Dalian, China.
